My Viennese Whirl
Hi everyone! It has been awhile.
On this part of the update it is simply about the sights that I saw and visited, then there’ll be ones about the museums and art galleries, about the weirdest exhibition I have seen so far and obviously about the food! Yay! Food!
4 days in Vienna was not enough, I needed more. With the added bonus of clear autumn days the city is was so pretty and interesting.
This is another city I would encourage people to go out the main tourist part and walk or take the tram instead of the underground trains. It is full of fascinating buildings and cafés.
Two other things beside eating cakes and museums that I would recommend people to do is:
1. Go to the Saturday Flea Market
It is near the area of NaschMarkt, opens from 6.30 am to 6pm with around 400 sellers. If I had more lugagge space I would have bought loads of things.
If you are not there on a Saturday, the area surrounding it is very pretty too. This Art Nouveau Building by Otto Wagner is just in front of the market.
This colourful buildings are just around the corner from the market.
2. Take a ride on Riesenrad – the giant extra old ferris wheel
A good way to see the city and experience an historic ride.
Views from the Riesenrad.
The Prater fairground where the wheel is located is fun too.
Next the weirdest exhibition and food.
